DAYTON'S STORY

A REALLY ROTTEN DAY

I HOPE I NEVER HAVE ANOTHER DAY AS BAD AS THIS ONE. IT STARTED WITH MY DOG. HE JUMPED ON MY BED AND WOKE ME UP WITH A THOUSAND LICKS. AFTER I WOKE UP I WAS EATING SOME LEFT OVER PANCAKES FOR BREAKFAST. MY DOG JUMPED AND PUSHED ME TO THE GROUND. BAM!!! I WAS ON THE GROUND AND MY DOG WAS EATING MY PANCAKES. THEY WERE MY FAVORITE BANANA PANCAKES. THEN I HAD TO WALK THE DOG AND HE POOPED ON THE SIDE WALK. I TRIPPED OVER A ROCK AND LANDED IN THE FRESH DOG POOP. I'LL NEVER HAVE ANOTHER DAY AS BAD AS THIS ONE.

I THOUGHT THIS WAS SOOOO CUTE, IT REMINDED ME OF KENZIE AND HOW GREAT SHE IS AT WRITING SHORT STORIES AND POEMS. SHE STARTED DOING THIS AT A VERY YOUNG AGE. ONE OF HER POEMS WAS SENT BY HER TEACHER TO A BOOK TO BE PUBLISHED.

CAMPING

Before(morning)

After(afternoon)

Beautiful hike...........

Boos first camp trip........

Looking for gold flakes......

We found the best spot only an hour away from our house. This place was so gorgeous and peaceful. There was an eagles nest with babies in it only a small hike away. We were a little cold at night but had fun hiking, playing games and splashing in the river. The kids had tons of fun playing jump rope with their glow necklaces then made a night light in the tent out of them. They were giggling so loud it was hilarious. Our friends came up with their kids and spent the day on Saturday. They made fishing poles and got soaked, thank heavens for warm fires. Boo was a little nervous the first night but loved the hike. We found a great spot to spend our weekends next summer.

HOCKEY

Lanie started hockey this month. Nick said she is a natural and that she will be better than most of the players in a few years(he played for his high school team) She loves it, we have so much fun watching her. She is number 8 in the green.

SEE YOU SOON! STAY WARM......

Our dear friends we met here in Colorado are moving to Alaska. We have enjoyed many awesome Sunday dinners and game nights with them.We hosted a going away party at our house. It was tons of fun to have all our friends here helping us send them off. We are so excited to go visit Alaska now! They just started their big drive today. We are so glad that they are a part of our life. They just had a new addition to the family little Rachel(me and Maddie fight over whose turn it is to hold her). I love that no matter where you go, no matter what you do there are amazing people everywhere to meet. We love you Sardakowkis, see you soon!

COLORADO

We weren't sure what to expect when we moved here. Neither of us had been to Colorado for years. To our surprise it was so green everywhere. There are major parks or open recreational areas on every corner it seems. They are very big into outdoor recreation and dogs. We started seeing that no matter where we were people had their dogs with them. So needless to say Boo has tons of stuff to do here. He loves the dog parks. Everyone jokes about the weather too. They always say, if you don't like the weather wait a day. The sun is shining here about 300 days of the year. We would get huge snow storms that would put 1-3 feet down, then the next day it would be melted. People have made lists for us to let us know the things we must see and do, it will take forever to see them all. Our yard feels like were camping, complete with squirrels, racoons and foxes. It only takes us 20 minutes to get to downtown Denver. There is a NFL,NHL,NBA,MLB,MLS(soccer) and a professional lacrosse team(i didn't know the acronym). All of their venues are within 2 miles of each other, it is neat to see the Broncos stadium all lit up with fans from the freeway at night(even if I'm not a broncos fan). Our ward here is amazing, they are like family to us. Can't wait to share more of Colorado with our family and friends when you come out to visit!

BOO

We introduced a new member to our family, we picked him up on the way to Colorado. He was so small and cute......then he grew, and grew oh yes an grew! He is a Basset Hound-Chihuahua mix. So he thinks he is a lapdog even though he outgrew that a long time ago. He is very spoiled and we all love him tons. Funny story, I overheard Lanie one morning yelling at Boo. He had taken a toy of hers and she couldn't get it back from him. So she proceeded to call him a dirty little Basset Hound. She is always saying funny things.

GOING AWAY PARTY.......

We had a going away party in July.......Huge fireworks(thanks Leesh),good food and family. Mom and Dad Keyser were there too!

CATCHING UP!

Hey family and friends, we wanted to stay in touch since we are no longer on Facebook. My sister told me how easy this Blog thing was, so I thought I would give it a try. So far so good, I wish I had done this sooner. We made a big move to Colorado last year and we need to catch up a little. So I guess the pictures and posts for a while will be from this past year to get us all caught up since our move. If your wondering why we chose the name FLLKS for our blog, let me explain. We thought it would be fun to create a family title that had a little bit of all of us. Foote,Long,Laycock and Keysers!
